Burn Calories With Increased Metabolism

Over time we have grown to look forward to those frightening reports which appears at the beginning of a New Year, about the dangers of being overweight or obese. And more so, we learn of the drastic measures and resolutions made to lose the unwanted pounds.

In desperation, plans are made to start various exercise programs. Be it walking, jogging, cardio or forming exercise groups. Some even consider a total body cleanse. All of these are good and if followed through, will no doubt result in some success. However, along with these routines, consideration must be given to the fact that increasing our metabolism is a necessity.

Since our metabolism is defined as the rate at which our body burns calories, it stands to reason that the faster we burn calories, the better we can manage our weight. It’s important to rev up our metabolism with how and what we eat – and make it a cleaner digestive process by incorporating raw and cleansing foods. Some important things to do to take control of our metabolism would be:-

Eat small meals and snacks several times a day to keep our metabolism high. Be sure to include healthy proteins (which take more energy to digest), fiber-rich foods (which make us feel fuller and take longer to digest), soups, beans, fresh vegetables and fruits.

Don’t skip breakfast and don’t eat too little. Metabolism slows down overnight and will lag behind if we eat too few calories, especially after we wake up. Eating breakfast and eating enough will keep our metabolism humming along.

Use spices and eat spicy foods – chili, for instance. It’s been said that spicy foods can raise metabolism by nearly 25 percent for a short time after eating them. If so, then what a tasty way to keep our metabolism going.

Get moving. Exercising for more than 30 minutes can help burn calories and elevate your metabolic rate during exercise, and for up to several hours afterwards. Exercise also builds muscle, which helps to burn even more calories.

And while all this is sure to show success, it couldn’t hurt to include a good dietary cleansing while cranking up our metabolism. High-fiber, antioxidant-packed raw vegetables and fruits are one way to help sweep away unwanted toxins and perhaps unwanted belly fat. Losing weight is a completely structured process, which, if followed can only result in the desired goal.
